Erasmus+ course summary
Teachers often feel reluctant to new technologies because they are not aware of how easy it is to implement in teaching practice. Students on the other hand expect less theory, real-life cases, digital immersion, and fun during learning. The course shows how to teach with less theory and more practice including modern technology. 360° videos, Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), 3D Printing, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) help teachers engaging students in discovery, collaboration, and innovation. The course equips teachers with hands-on activities and tools for direct use in their classroom, for example cultural heritage, biodiversity, sustainability. Learning material: all in English, some in Dutch, Estonian, French, German, Greek, Italian, Macedonian, Portuguese, Turkish. Course Content
PROGRAMME DAY-BY-DAY
Training usually takes place between 9:00 am and 14:00 pm, followed by after-class activities, that are optional.
DAY 1 We start off with an introductory meeting, an explanation of practical arrangements and a presentation of the participants and timetable. The participants are encouraged to express their expectations, needs and wishes regarding the content of the programme and learning methods. * We continue with the introduction to inspiring use cases of 360° videos, AR, VR, and AI in Education. The participants get essential information to overcome any limiting beliefs or overwhelming feelings regarding the complexity and high costs of modern technology in theirs teaching subject. DAY 2 AR and VR technology: best practices and examples, guidelines, and interactive learning materials to be accessed through students’ smartphones with the use of iSeeApp as AR technology - AR apps. 360° videos and Google cardboard: educational resources. Lesson plans for improved teaching processes within specific thematic areas, for instance, crisis management, sustainable manufacturing, biodiversity, healthcare and food production. DAY 3 3D printing: best practices and examples, guidelines and implementation hacks. Blueprints and lesson plans for linking STEAM with historical and cultural heritage. Half-day excursion. DAY 4 AI: best practices and examples, guidelines and implementation hacks. Create your own chatbot for improved learning results of your students. DAY 5 Practice: integration of knowledge, re-innovation of your own lesson plans with the integration of 360° videos, AR, VR, 3D Printing, and AI. DAY 6 Evaluation and farewell. Documentation and certificates of attendance. * Some changes in the programme are possible - the content of the course is always adapted to the participants previous knowledge, expectations and requirements. The participants receive the Informational Booklet a few weeks prior to the start of the course. |
