Multiculturalism: Teacher’s Role in the Integration Process of Immigrant ChildrenTeacher’s role in the integration process of immigrant children, emotional distress and psychological needs during the integration.
Erasmus+ course summary
Though migration is not a new phenomenon, it is getting more and more relevant in our lives. Integration and multiculturalism are one of the most important elements for creating a diverse and open society. If we want to live in multi-cultural societies, it is important to teach our children how to be open-minded, tolerant and how to accept diversity. Kindergartens and schools need to cooperate in two different processes, in integrating immigrant children into educational system and society and in ensuring intercultural environment to successfully run the educational process in globalised environment. Strengthening values of multiculturalism and diversity can meaningfully contribute to a personal development of all children (not only immigrant), their parents and teachers. "I truly believe the only way we can create global peace is through not only educating our minds, but our hearts and our souls." – Malala
