Erasmus+ job shadowing summary

Exploration of Slovenian education: the participants get a chance to visit different Slovenian schools, observing and interacting with peers, experts, and other practitioners in their daily work. It is a unique opportunity to gain international experience and expand professional horizons.

Networking, project planning and internationalisation: meeting colleagues from Slovenian and other European countries, (guided) best practice and peer exchange, building connections for the future projects, exchanges and collaborations.

Pricing: 350 € / participant (see the day-by-day programme below)

Full Programme

OBJECTIVES

By the end of the job shadowing programme the participants get exposed to several teaching practices focused on the chosen topics. Additionally, they get a broader perspective on the educational system of the hosting country. They acquire new strategies, techniques, and resources they can apply to their teaching practices, ultimately enhancing their instructional skills and effectiveness. With the international exchange the participants of Primera job shadowing programme also widen their network.

METHODOLOGY

School system presentations / School visits / Class observations / Peer exchange / Action plan / Cultural experience / Getting out of the comfort zone. 

PROGRAMME DAY-BY-DAY

This programme is an outline. We draft a specific programme in cooperation with schools once we confirm the session and get the participants' expectations.

​DAY 1 - Introduction to job-shadowing and getting to know each-other
Welcome session: ice-breakers, timetable presentation and practical arrangements, doubts and questions, documentation.

Participants' organisations presentations: motivation, expectations and contributions, and work-related challenges (group work).

Slovenian school system presentation: teacher training system and continuous professional development,  teaching strategies and methodologies, peer exchange. ​

DAY 2 / DAY 3 / DAY 4 - School Visits
Visiting Slovenia kindergarten / primary school / secondary school / high school in different groups, depending on the requirements of the participants.

School presentation: basic information about the school and its teaching practices, projects and activities, challenges and teachers' professional development. 

School tour and class observation used on the chosen topic of the job shadowing.

+ one afternoon excursion to one of the Slovenia's highlights included 

DAY 5 
What have we learned: sharing insights, reflection, discussion and exchange of perspectives. 

Individual action plan: improvements, dissemination activities and internationalisation strategies.
