Job Shadowing Programmes

Five days of observing and interacting with teacher colleagues from another country.
Erasmus+ job shadowing summary
Primera’s job shadowing programmes offer participants the chance to spend five days at a hosting organization in another country, observing and interacting with peers, experts, and other practitioners in their daily work. They are a unique opportunity to gain international experience and expand professional horizons.

The programme includes a briefing session, 5 pedagogical hours of school visits a day, cultural activity, and a closing session, ensuring a well-rounded and immersive experience. Pricing: 350 € per participant including all the abovementioned activities.

Currently, we offer job shadowing programmes in Slovenia and Austria with the following topics:

Full Programme

OBJECTIVES
By the end of the job shadowing programme participants get exposed to several teaching practices focused on the chosen topics. They also get the broader perspective on the educational system of the hosting country. They acquire new strategies, techniques, and resources that they can apply to their teaching practices, ultimately enhancing their instructional skills and effectiveness. With the international exchange participants of Primera job shadowing programmes also widen their network.
METHODOLOGY
The Erasmus+ job shadowing programme offered by Primera provides participants with a unique opportunity to spend five days in another country, observing and interacting with teacher colleagues in their daily work. The programme includes a briefing session, 5 pedagogical hours of school visits a day, a cultural activity, and a closing session, ensuring a well-rounded and immersive experience. Participants can choose from topics such as digitalization in schools, inclusion and diversity, teaching sustainability, promoting STEM, or early childhood education.
PROGRAMME DAY-BY-DAY
This programme is an outline. We draft a specific programme in cooperation with schools once we confirm the session and get the participants' expectations.

​DAY 1 
We start off with an introductory meeting, an explanation of practical arrangements and a presentation of the participants and timetable. The participants are encouraged to express their needs and wishes regarding the content of the programme and learning methods.​ *

We continue with the general outline of the educational system in the hosting country, teacher training system and continuous professional development of teachers. The participants benchmark their practices and exchange the views.

DAY 2
School visit I - day 1: starts with a welcoming session in the school in which the school team presents their teaching practices, projects and activities. Questions and answers are integrated in the session.

Class observations focused on the chosen topic of the job shadowing.

Follow-up session with reflection, discussion and exchange of perspectives.
 

DAY 3 
School visit I - day 2: class observations focused on the chosen topic of the job shadowing.

Follow-up session with reflection, discussion and exchange of perspectives.

Half-day excursion. 

DAY 4
School visit II - day 1: starts with a welcoming session in the school in which the school team presents their teaching practices, projects and activities. Questions and answers are integrated in the session.
