Pan-European Conference on Digital Education

Outbreak caused by COVID -19 showed that circling of teaching ideas across countries is very much needed. A strong network among teachers fosters a better impact on students, a sense of belonging, willingness to take risks, teacher identity and a growth mindset.

Many teachers made digital teaching really effective. Our role as the Erasmus+ courses provider is to make them visible. At Primera we have decided to take the initiative and organize a Pan-European Zoom conference to enable teachers across Europe to share their best practices in distance teaching with their colleagues.

To achieve this mission we:

• organize online Pan-European Conference on Digital Education every month, usually on the last Thursday;
• administer a Facebook group Pan-European Conference on Digital Education - with love to transfer best practice among teachers and engage members in meaningful conversations about digital education. The group is also a starting platform for different free events for teachers such as teacher intervision and presentations of innovative teaching strategies. Welcome to join and contribute to the group.

By sharing best practices, we can help our colleagues and receive help and support from them.

Every teacher is welcome to participate on the Pan-European Conference on Digital Education in the following ways:

• Oral presentation: 7 minutes oral presentations followed by questions from the participants. Several times a year we publish a Call for presenters on our webpage and social media. For oral presentation you get a certificate of oral presentation.
• Poster presentation: prepare a Power Point or some other kind of presentation showing your best practice in digital education. Upload it on the Pan-EU Conference Padlet. You get a certificate of poster presentation.
• ​Participation as a listener: welcome to follow the conference as a listener. As a listener you can still share some of your insights in the conference chat and mentimeter. All the participants have a possibility to receive a certificate of attendance free of charge. During the conference we publish a link in the chat in which you can apply for the certificate. The link works for 24 hours.

The official language of the Pan-EU Conference on Digital Education is English. The conference is online live-streaming event.

Fulfilling our mission.

Pan-EU Conference topics are the following (but not limited to):

• Cross-curricular digital projects: project-based learning, digital tools to solve real-world problems.
• Digital assessment: digital tools and tips for formative and summative assessment.
• Digital didactics: in digital teaching we cannot use the same pedagogical and didactic practices as in full-time teaching. This topic gives tips about lecturing online.
• Digital peer collaboration: digital scavenger hunts, comics, quizzes, ebooks, brainstorm, make media, peer reviewing and discussions.
• Digital preschool: pedagogical use of digital play as a means to develop children’s literacy, mathematics, character etc.
• Overcoming inequity: share best practice working with students whose parents can’t afford Internet access or gadgets. This topic also includes special needs students.
• Self-development: discussions and material for our personal growth, self-confidence, peer support, stress management, mindfulness, emotional intelligence.
• Student motivation: distance learning can have a significant impact on students’ social and emotional well-being resulting in poor learning motivation. Strategies to mitigate this risk are welcome under this topic.
• Thinking skills: the ultimate purpose of education is help instill curiosity and a love for learning, critical, creative and collaborative thinking skills. Share your practice how do you use technology to develop thinking skills.
