Team that is taking care of Primera courses is also highly active in ambitious European projects. Since it is easier to participate in European projects as non-profite organization, we joined our efforts in STEP Institute, Institute for work psychology and entrepreneurship. STEP Institute is dynamic and innovative private non-profit organization that is dealing with people development. Our mission is to empower people for better functioning in work environment.
Core areas of expertise are similar to the topics of KA1 trainings. We deal with entrepreneurship development, skills for job market and innovative learning tools. Our experts have multidisciplinary background, so they can address complex challenges such as unemployment, lack of employability skills, weak business thinking and social exclusion.
During our work with private and public sector and implementation of in-service trainings we established rich network of contacts with educational institutions, business associations, private companies and NGO’s. Currently you can meet us as leading partners in projects under Erasmus+ programme and CENTRAL Interreg programme.
Innovative learning tools
Use of tablets and smartphones is getting common in our schools. We don’t count ourselves as software programmers, but we are experts for interesting learning contents. By combining creativity, user-focused approach and rich knowledge base we offer assistance to many innovative learning approaches that use modern technology. Designing tools that provoke playfulness and flow while learning complex topics is something we truly enjoy.
Innovations in learning tools are not limited to technology only. Coaching and mentoring are established methods of teachers’ development in European schools. Peer coaching is less so. We received highly positive feedbacks from participants that engaged in peer and team coaching. They felt more empowered and self-confident when dealing with professional challenges or major changes in their educational institutions.
Role in projects
Rich network of contacts enable us to cover almost any stage in the project. We feel most energized when we are solving tough challenges in intellectual outputs. Here we rely on multidisciplinary knowledge, in-depth understanding of the user needs and creative thinking.
Research is integral part of early project stages. We can design tailor-made questionnaires, implement surveys and use adequate statistical methods to present meaningful results. We deal with qualitative research methods like in-depth interviews and focus groups. Ethnographic approach, especially observation of the user, is integral part of new service development.
Dissemination is chapter that is usually underestimated in the projects. We always define target groups that can benefit from project idea and involve them in every stage of the project. Much of dissemination is done on existing channels of our target groups that have access to big number of final users.
Did we mention that we implement trainings? Sometimes project coordinator needs institutions with strong training experience and access to various groups. Our specialty are tailor made trainings that are educative and fun at the same time. We are specialists for train-the-trainer approach which is often excellent guarantee for sustainability of project results.
Skills for jobs
During our work at HR departments we gained valuable insight into expectations of job market. We have learned to discover training needs with complex methods such as assessment/development centers and 360 degree feedback. We developed creative exercises and simulations for assessment of communication skills, creativity, change management, organizational skills, leadership potential and stress management.
But determination of training needs is just one part of the story. Our specialties are interactive and inspiring tailor-made trainings that originate from needs of our trainees. All trainings are highly experiential, they build on deep self-reflection and are supported by detailed training material. Topics are highly diverse: from basic employability skills for long-term unemployed to leadership trainings.
Psychological background helps us to design innovative career guidance tools. We are involved in construction of questionnaires and apps that enable students to make right career decisions. Special attention is dedicated to students’ entrance into world of work. We connect them with private sector through business challenges and entrepreneurial projects.
We love to work on new entrepreneurial projects. Entrepreneurship is academic background of three STEP members. We have experience in preparing curricula and giving lectures on entrepreneurship topics to children in primary/high school and students at university. But we also do what we teach: from successfully implemented Kickstarter campaigns to providing consulting for the future entrepreneurs.
EU projects in area of entrepreneurship are an excellent opportunity to disseminate and receive the latest knowledge. When working on intellectual inputs or training contents, we use findings from design thinking, business modelling and lean start-up methodology. We are involved in innovation process of products and services in smaller and larger organizations.
Social entrepreneurship is a growing field that is following different rules than mainstream entrepreneurial activity. Here we deal with sustainable business models of different social projects. European immigration crisis is resulting in increased interest for another promising area: entrepreneurship for immigrants. We are already working on this topic in one of KA2 projects.
Current EU projects
- Project START-UP is aimed towards young people that want to start new business. We help them with creative teaching methods, interactive workshops, mentoring and strong on-line platform (Erasmus+ project).
- IQAIST is highly relevant Erasmus+ project that is dealing with quality criteria of Erasmus+ training courses. All findings will be implemented into existent courses and disseminated with other European course providers.
- The main goal of the Erasmus+ project SENTIM is to explore and to take advantage of the potential of social economyconsidering the needs of the immigrants and by extension the needs of any other people who face labour market discrimination and social exclusion.
