Erasmus+ course summary
This 3-day international professional development programme introduces teachers to the wonder learning approach, a pedagogy that integrates pleasant emotions, curiosity, and meaning-driven technology use into classroom practice. Participants learn how to design emotionally engaging, inclusive, and digitally empowered lessons that nurture intrinsic motivation and deep learning. Participants receive a handbook entitled Digitally Empowered Wonder Learning. The toolkit provides the conceptual framework, lesson design templates, reflective tools, quizes, assessment tools, and practical activities used throughout the training.

The session in March has no course fee because the course is co-funded by the Erasmus+ project Wonder Learning for Digital Natives, agreement number 2024-1-PT01-KA220-SCH-000254381.

Full Programme

OBJECTIVES

By the end of the course, participants will understand the main ideas behind wonder learning and how it connects to emotions and motivation. They will learn how to use awe, curiosity, and beauty to make lessons more engaging in different subjects. They will apply the 5Cs (Connect, Communicate, Curate, Collaborate, Create) to bring meaningful technology into the classroom. They will design wonder learning lessons that are inclusive and inspiring. They will also promote digital citizenship and internet safety by encouraging healthy, ethical, and creative use of technology. Finally, they will reflect on their teaching and use the wonder self-coaching canvas and evaluation tools to keep improving their practice.​

METHODOLOGY

The training is based on experiential and collaborative learning. Participants engage in interactive workshops and creative group design sessions. They take part in reflective discussions and peer feedback to deepen understanding and improve teaching practice. The trainer organizes interactive exercises on platforms such as Padlet, Wakelet, and Mentimeter to encourage creativity and idea sharing. Participants also design and practice their own lesson plans using the wonder learning lesson template, applying emotions, curiosity, and digital tools to their teaching context. Pre- and post-training self-assessments support reflection and the development of a wonder learning mindset.

​DAY 1 : 9th of March 2026, from 13:00 to 18:00
The wonder learning mindset: Understanding wonder as a driver of curiosity, focus, and intrinsic motivation.
5Cs of digitally empowered wonder learning: Connect, Communicate, Curate, Collaborate, Create.
Wonder learning cases applied to media literacy: Stereotypes, prejudices, and generalised beliefs.
Wonder learning toolkit.

DAY 2: 10th of March 2026, from 13:00 to 18:00
Wonder learning cases applied to internet safety.
Methodological part of the course: Tools for learning about the topic, collaboration, and creation.
Web 2.0 tools and artificial intelligence.
Wonder learning lesson planning.
Wonder learning GPT agent.
 
DAY 3: 11th of March 2026, from 9:00 to 14:00
School visit.
Guided tour around the Austrian parliament.
Evaluation and farewell. 
Documentation and certificates of attendance.

​The participants receive the Informational Booklet a few weeks prior to the start of the course. ​
