Artificial intelligence is transforming classrooms across Europe. This course brings together teachers from different countries to exchange practical ideas, discover successful classroom approaches, and learn from one another's experiences. Through international collaboration, participants gain fresh perspectives, build a European professional network, and return home with practical strategies tested in diverse educational settings. While many teachers still use AI mainly for chatting, this course explores its full potential, from lesson planning and content creation to personalised learning, assessment, and responsible AI use. Participants will leave with greater confidence, practical AI skills, and a renewed perspective on how AI can enrich their teaching practice.

Course Content
PROGRAMME DAY-BY-DAY
Training usually takes place between 9:00 am and 14:00 pm, followed by after-class activities, that are optional.
DAY 1: AI around Europe Morning session: We start off with an introductory meeting, an explanation of practical arrangements and a presentation of the participants and timetable. The participants are encouraged to express their expectations, needs and wishes regarding the content of the programme and learning methods. * Teachers work in small groups. Experienced participants prepare a five minute showcase including:
Teachers who are new to AI can instead share digital tools they already use. Afternoon session: Understanding what AI can and cannot do. Exploring the most useful AI tools for teachers. Choosing the right tool for the right task. Recognizing strengths, limitations, and risks. Participants will explore a range of AI tools, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, and NotebookLM, and discuss which tools are best suited for different teaching tasks. DAY 2: Save time with AI Morning session: AI as your teaching assistant. Participants will take part in practical activities to learn how to use AI to prepare lesson plans, create worksheets, design quizzes, draft emails to parents, prepare reports, summarize meetings, and translate teaching materials. Getting better answers from AI. Participants learn how to: ask clear questions, improve AI responses, provide useful context, refine answers step by step. Afternoon session: Making everyday teaching easier. Participants explore how AI can help with: creating rubrics, preparing classroom resources, giving feedback, organizing information, and adapting materials for different subjects. Examples of tools we will use: MagicSchool AI, Brisk Teaching, Diffit, Canva Magic Write. DAY 3: Create engaging content with AI Morning session: Participants learn how to use AI to create presentations, worksheets, images, videos, games, and other learning activities. Design an AI enhanced lesson: International teams design one complete lesson using AI. Examples of tools we will use: Gamma, Canva, Brisk Teaching, Diffit. Afternoon: Cultural sights DAY 4: Learning personalization Morning session: Support every learner with AI. Participants will explore how to use AI to adapt learning materials, support students with different abilities, provide language support, help struggling learners, extend learning opportunities for advanced students, and deliver personalised feedback. AI detective: How can we tell when students use AI? Afternoon session: Helping students use AI wisely: Participants will explore how to help students use AI responsibly by checking information for accuracy, recognising bias, protecting privacy, respecting copyright, and developing critical thinking skills. DAY 5: School visit and planning Morning session: Participants will visit a local school to meet teachers and school leaders, explore the local education system, learn about the school's approach to teaching and learning, discuss successes and challenges, exchange ideas with local colleagues, and explore opportunities for future collaboration. Afternoon session: Each participant develops a practical action plan including: one classroom innovation to introduce, one resource to create, one idea to share with colleagues, further steps for implementing AI in their teaching practice. Course evaluation and certificates. * Some changes in the programme are possible - the content of the course is always adapted to the participants previous knowledge, expectations and requirements. The participants receive the Informational Booklet a few weeks prior to the start of the course. |
