Webinar: READING ALOUD Methods in European Preschools and Kindergartens

Did you know there are more than 20 different read-aloud methods used by kindergarten teachers across Europe? These methods enhance vocabulary, cognitive development, and social-emotional skills in preschool children through engaging and intentional reading and storytelling.

Reading to children shouldn't be just a way to relax after lunch or before nap time. It's a powerful and effective learning tool. Our kindergarten teachers are presenters in this important webinar, and they are shining examples of how to use various read-aloud techniques successfully in the kindergarten and preschool settings.

Benefits for the participants

The presenters are kindergarten educators who previously attended training in Vienna on reading aloud methods. After the training, they chose specific methods to experiment with in their teaching practice. During the webinar, they will share their experiences and the feedback they received from children.

In addition to inspiration drawn from peer teachers' practical experience, participants of the webinar will also receive a written collection of read-aloud methods and, upon request, a certificate of attendance.

Background

This webinar is possible to conduct free-of-charge because of the co-funding by the Erasmus+ programme, project ReadIn, agreement number: 2024-1-SE01-KA210-SCH-000250898.

The ReadIn project aims to collect and develop a collection of read-aloud methods currently used by kindergarten teachers across Europe. This collection will be available free of charge for anyone interested in downloading and applying it in their educational practice.​
